Core Learning System

The Core Learning System (CLS) is the Live Learning Infrastructure that makes the location and distance separating teachers and students no longer an obstacle; it allows the teacher to teach from any location that has a broadband Internet connection.  Similarly, students can access the live lectures from any location with an Internet connection.  The CLS includes the following features:

  • Video/audio — The student is able to view and/or listen to the live lessons delivered by the instructor or facilitator.  In addition, the instructor or facilitator has the ability to pass the microphone and video to any of the students for “live” questions or comments. The users can enable or disable video to accommodate varying Internet bandwidth.
  • Presentation — The instructor/facilitator is able to upload a PowerPoint presentation to accompany the lesson to aid the students’ learning experience.  The instructor/facilitator is able to switch the slides unilaterally. He is also able to click through the slides unnoticed by the students during the live lecture.
  • Chat — The chat feature empowers the student to ask a question without interrupting the lecturer to ensure an interactive learning experience.  The instructor/facilitator has access to the chat feature, which allows him to quickly post a reply. Furthermore, he can clear the dialogue at anytime.
  • Whiteboard — The whiteboard allows the instructor/facilitator to draw on the slides to further illustrate a concept.  When accompanied with a computer tablet and a digital pen, this becomes an invaluable tool for the instructor/facilitator.
  • Textboard — The text board allows the instructor/facilitator to communicate with viewers and students.
  • Hosting ­— Our default hosting package allows the instructor/facilitator to deliver lectures or workshops, from any broadband Internet enabled computer in the world, to a maximum of 400 simultaneous viewers.  This package can be upgraded at the request of the customer with sufficient notice and at an additional cost.
  • System Technical Support ­­— Includes system (Hardware/Software) maintenance and technical incident resolution.

 The Core Learning System is complimented with customization and training services to effectively deliver a branded solution.

  • Customization — This customizes the Live Learning Infrastructure to the color schemes and logos of the customer organization.  Our development team will coordinate with your chosen graphics designer to implement your brand. 
  • System Use Training — Training is provided in order to enable the customer to fully utilize the CLS effectively. 

 

Value-Added Services

These services enhance the Core Learning System by increasing the student’s learning experience and decreasing the level of effort required by the teacher.  These services include:

Educational Support:

  • Content Development — With this service, the teacher only needs to send the teaching materials that he or she is teaching from and we will develop the PowerPoint slides using our e-learning expertise.  Our slides are educational-based to ensure that the teacher’s concepts are presented to the student effectively.
  • Teaching Assistant Services — Much like any university, the student needs a primary contact when the teacher is unable to play this role.  The teacher will have the final say on the selection of the TA.  To formalize the role of the TA, he or she can render the services listed below based on the preference of the teacher:
    1. Workshops — These are instructional or facilitated sessions hosted by the TA to supplement the teacher’s instructional sessions.  The TA will utilize the core learning system.
    2. Forum Facilitation — The TA will lead group discussions to maximize the students’ involvement.  The forum is a method to further discuss key concepts from the course under the supervision of the TA.
    3. Assignment Development — The assignments are used to test key concepts and are developed, as well as, administered using our online testing software.
    4. Grading — Utilizing our online testing software, the students can view their mistakes and instructional comments, if applicable.

User Support:

  • Help Desk — Our help desk is open during business hours and allows live technical support for the students.
  • Live Session Support — Dedicated staff will deal with any of the students’ technical issues during the live session.  The live help desk is available from 30 minutes before a scheduled session to 30 minutes after.
  • Student Registration — Our system incorporates a smooth four step registration process that is simple yet powerful.  Throughout the registration process, the student is never lost and he or she is always aware of the next steps.
  • Payment Processing — We facilitate Visa, MasterCard, and PayPal through our merchant account or the customer’s merchant account.  If the customer opts to use SunniPath’s merchant account, the client’s name will appear on their statement to facilitate branding. 
  • Implementing Cart into Website—A seamless process where the student does not feel the cart is a separate unit from the actual website. 

Archiving:

  • Live Session Archiving — The student will have the ability to listen or view the full lecture including the presentation slides and all live interactions after it has taken place, either for review purposes or in the event the subscriber has missed a lecture.
  • Pre-recorded Lesson Hosting — These are used to supplement the live lesson and are intended for the students to listen to prior to the actual live lesson.  These are fully recorded multimedia sessions.
